2016 Alexandria Grand Prix

The Annual Alexandria Grand Prix will be held on the third weekend of August in downtown Alexandria. Drivers from all over the midwest come to compete in this Southern Indiana Racing Association event. The Alexandria Grand Prix is the "Largest go-kart street racing events in Indiana" and "One of the largest in the Midwest", according to the SIRA. This 2 day event brings over 4000 spectators to Alexandria.

This year the Alexandria Grand Prix has been endorsed by the 2016 Indiana Bicentennial Commission as a Legacy Project. During the AGP, we will take time to pause and honor the racing heritage of Alexandria. We will have representatives from Alexandria that will honor over 70 years of auto racing. We will also hold a special celebrity "Bicentennial Race" with representatives from state and county offices. They will compete in this special race to honor Alexandria's racing heritage and Indiana's Bicentennial.
The Chamber is proud to be able to help promote and organize this ever growing event. The dates for the 2016 Alexandria Grand Prix will be August 20 & 21, 2016.
